The first things that stood out to me that I thought is incredibly helpful is the Blue Menu of Evidence-based Psychosocial Interventions for Youth. It lists several different types of behaviors and disorders, and provides the best form of treatment to utilize. As a new clinician in the school-based setting, it is incredibly helpful to have all of these tools in one location, so I can access it and use it as a tool for creating treatment plans. I would use this resource in the future when working with youth. Additionally, Practicewise offers a database full of evidence-based treatment that you can tailor your search so it includes the child's individual characteristics. Since I typically do a lot of my research in the UofSC database, and I will lose this access when I graduate, I think having access to the Practicewise database would be incredibly beneficial. Lastly, there are a ton of trainings on the Practicewise website that would be helpful as a new clinician working in a school-based setting. I can see myself using all of these resources in the future.

I watched the webinar "Social Skills: Ideas for Summertime Application" by Ari Blum, MSW, LCSW-C, a practice-wise trainer. The webinar focused on teaching and improving social skills in children and adolescents. The video was recorded during COVID-19 when students attended school virtually from home. Most attendees were interested in ideas for keeping students engaged in learning using technology, mainly middle schoolers.

The Practice Wise website is a great resource for school-based therapists and counseling professionals. It offers various tools like free education-enhancing resources, resource subscriptions, consultations, credentialing, continuing education courses, free books, and the Practice Wise Evidence-Based Services Database. These resources can help school-based therapists provide exceptional services to their clients that are both useful and effective. In my personal experience, I found the Blue Menu of Evidence-Based Interventions to be particularly helpful. It provides the best treatment options for working with children who have many of the diagnoses listed on the website. The therapeutic interventions listed in this menu are incredibly useful for helping clients improve their well-being. I will definitely consider using this website when working with my clients.

I decided to look at the free version of the Insight Building: Emotion Identification course. I thought this would be pretty interesting and informative since most of my work with students is helping them identify, understand, and regulate their emotions. The course describes effective emotion identification as allowing the client to identify and label their emotions, recognizing a range of emotions experienced by others, and enhancing the understanding of emotions by exploring physical and cognitive response cues. It was really interesting that the course mentioned that ineffective emotion identification would mean that the therapist is telling what a emotion a person is feeling instead of letting the client figure it out and also labeling others and the youth’s emotions for them. I know sometimes it can be hard for youth to identify their emotions so I might have to name it for them but this course reminded me to help the student figure it out and not name it for them, which is really important. Overall, this course was really insightful and is a good tool to learn how to help youth identify their emotions.

I enjoyed looking through PracticeWise to explore the different options of continuing education. I think it is very helpful to have an idea of where you can find continuing education for future years. I decided to look more into the free version clinical dashboards and clinical dashboards advanced version. I like that it provided videos to help me better understand and feel more interactive than if I just was reading an article or something similar to that. I felt like the information provided was relevant and insightful. There are many tools that are provided on PracticeWise that I think could benefit school based counselors or therapist if they were aware of this site. It is something that after messing with it, I think I will look back to in my future years.

I was very impressed with this website. I can see how it is helpful to those in a school setting. One of the most helpful things I found was the Blue Menu of Evidence-Based Psychosocial Interventions for Youth. It breaking down different therapy options and theories work best for psychosocial behaviors that commonly come up in schools. It also breaks it down into how much support the client needs. I wish I had known about this at the beginning of the semester.

I really enjoyed looking through the PracticeWise website. There were many different options for resources including the Practice Wise Evidence-Based Services Database, continuing education courses, resource subscriptions, and free books. I was impressed with the blue menu of evidence-based interventions. It was helpful to see exactly what the evidence-based approaches are for the symptoms that we are seeing in the schools. One of the interventions that was listed in the best support category was the Behavioral Feedback and Dietary Care intervention for eating disorders. I found this interesting because I have never heard of this specific approach before. I think the practice wise website is a great resource for all mental health professionals working with children.
